Jacksonville, Florida (PRWEB) January 13, 2012
On February 3, 2012, the University of North Floridas University Center in Jacksonville, Florida will be the location for a one day educational conference dedicated to promoting greater public awareness and education about the impact child sexual abuse outside the home has on our families, communities, businesses and organizations. Donald J. Dymer, chief executive officer of SingleSource Services Corporation, a leading background screening company for sixteen years and headquartered in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, is the conference sponsor and organizer. Dymer is encouraging all those who are involved with the care, education and mentoring of children and youth to attend this important conference.
Why Jacksonville?
Jacksonville was named the 1st Pinwheel City in the USA by Prevent Child Abuse America in 2010. The Pinwheel designation was designed to further advance policies and procedures to help prevent child abuse.
Headlining the conference will be Dr. Gene Abel, Director of Research at Abel Screening in Atlanta. Dr. Abel has won numerous honors and awards for his work and research projects that have uncovered new information to help prevent child sexual abuse. Dr. Abel’s awards include: The Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abuser’s Significant Achievement Award and The National Adolescent Perpetrator Network’s Award for Outstanding Research. Dr. Abel is also co-author of the book: “The Stop Child Molestation Book: What Ordinary People Can Do In Their Everyday Lives to Save Three Million Children.”
Joining Dr. Abel will be Leslie Nichols, Vice President Club Safety and Design at the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. The conference agenda includes other noted professionals from the nations leading organizations who will provide invaluable insight on what people can do to identify and prevent child sexual abusers from becoming the volunteers or employees who will have youth entrusted to their care.
“Until the sensationalism of child sexual abuse was uncovered at Penn State and later at Syracuse, victims and advocates faced years of challenges to get the publics attention focused on this insidious, on-going threat to children and youth.” explains Dymer. “No one discussed boundary issues’, let alone understood them.” After attending the Protect the Children Conference these terms will have meaning and attendees will be armed with the tools for change. The information shared at the conference is so substantive, the attendees will be eligible to receive continuing education credits from the American Psychological Association, the National Board for Certified Counselors and the Society of Human Resource Managers.
Critical issues that will be discussed include: the effects of long term abuse, the early age at which sexual abuse often occurs, the child’s reporting of the offense, parental reaction, and a review of institutional responses to such cases. Attendees will receive training in how to identify abuse and the tools that are available to enable them to make better decisions when hiring or selecting volunteers for their business or organizations.
Traditional background screening methods aren’t going to provide enough of a deterrent explains Dymer. In a study of 3,700,000 criminal background checks reported by ChoicePoint, only one-tenth of one percent of the entire screened pool was identified as having a criminal history related to sexual offenses. Most organizations rely on criminal background checks as their strongest safety measure toward keeping children safe, however the reality is that criminal background checks provide very little protection from child sexual abuse.
Conference sponsor and organizer, Don Dymer, CEO of SingleSource Services summarizes, The problem has been swept under the rug for years. As horrid as the situation was at Penn State and Syracuse – and the new reports of similar child sexual abuse are, we must hold onto to this moment in time while we have everyones attention to STOP the sexual abuse of children. Children are helpless to stop sexual abuse, only adults can stop child molestation.
To find out more about the conference, please contact Donald J. Dymer at SingleSource Services Corporation at the telephone number below. To register for the event, visit http://www.singlesourceservices.com/protectthechildren or call 1.800.713.3412.

Waterloo, IA (PRWEB) January 11, 2012
CPM, the worlds leading supplier of process equipment and technology for the animal feed, oilseed, biofuels and human food-processing industries, will debut its new pellet mill enhancement and launch its social media plan at the International Feed Expo (IFE) and International Poultry Expo (IPE), collocating at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Jan. 24-26.
As the world’s largest manufacturer of pellet mills, CPM has led the way in developing specialized pellet mills and dies that consistently yield high production levels with excellent pellet quality.
CPM is pleased to offer feed and poultry customers the ability to produce higher quality pellets at a lower cost through our new pellet mill enhancement, says Scott Anderson, general sales manager for CPM. Our lineator remote roller adjustment can now be coupled with roll speed measurementallowing customers to monitor the speed of the rolls and provide better roll-slip management to prevent plugs.
In pelleting, a larger die and more steam provide for a better pellet at a lower cost; but too much steam can cause roller slippage and die blockage. More than 20 years ago, CPM provided a great solution to this problem with the development of the CPM lineatormaking it possible to remotely control the distance between the roller and die surface while the pellet mill is in operation.
Now, CPMs roller speed measurement combined with the CPM lineator allows for cost-efficient, higher-capacity production with the same pellet quality, but with improved steam addition control and fewer overloads and blockages.
At Expo, CPM will be showcasing this new pellet mill enhancement as well as other CPM equipment important to animal feed production, including roller mills, hammermills, microscales and feedmill automation.
Were also excited to roll out our social media plan at Expo to better connect with our customers through LinkedIn and share the latest CPM and industry news through Twitter, Flickr and YouTube, says Anderson. Our CPM Users Group on LinkedIn has been helpful for customers to share CPM parts and equipment they have for sale, pellet production tips and more. The CPM team always looks forward to Expo each year because we get to meet with our customers and friends in person. This year we look forward to welcoming them into our social media world too.
To generate some fun and excitement at CPMs expo booth #1029, CPM is having a social media sweepstakes contest to give CPM Twitter followers the opportunity to win great prizes, including an iPad and a free CPM test center sample ($ 1,000 value). Customers can follow CPM on Twitter @CPMRoskamp, on YouTube at CPMRoskamp, on Flickr at CPMRoskamp, on LinkedIn at CPM Roskamp Champion or join the CPM Users Group.

Mesquite, Nevada (PRWEB) January 06, 2012
The numbers alone were staggering when discussing the success of the seventh annual Golf Fore Kids tournament played last month on four courses in Mesquite, Nevada.
Over 400 golfers converged on Falcon Ridge, Conestoga, the Palms and the Canyons Course at the Oasis Golf Club layouts. That represented a 10 percent increase from last years tournament while also establishing a new record of participants.
The annual event is used to raise gifts and cash during the holidays for needy youth and families in the Nevada cities of Mesquite, Overton and Bunkerville as well as nearby Beaver Dam and Littleton, Arizona.
Some 600 kids enjoyed gifts and cash estimated to be $ 90,000. The holiday Tournament and dinner gathering was a grand success.
From gift cards to toy tractors and scads of bicycles and tricycles, Golf Fore Kids was a hole-in-one presented by GolfMesquiteNevada.com and many other Mesquite city businesses and sponsors.
Bill Moore of Mesquite played at the Palms course. He has participated four previous Golf Fore Kids events.
Its just a good thing to do for the kids, said Moore, a native of Bozeman, Mont., who has lived in Mesquite for the past 12 years. This isnt about golf, but rather about helping the kids here.
Gloria George, also of Mesquite, played for the second time.
This is fun and its Mesquite, said George, who moved to Mesquite in 2000 from Santa Barbara. I have worked for the ReMax Long Drive championship here for 12 years and this was a natural. This is what Mesquite is all about. Look how many people were here.
I have never regretted moving to Mesquite and this event is among the reasons why I love this city. It is so representative of what Mesquite does for everyone around it. This city is always reaching out to help others. Its simply fun here.
Mesquite Mayor Mark Wier said the event is priceless. A native of North Dakota who has lived in Mesquite for 19 years, Wier said, Seeing the looks on the faces of the kids who receive the gifts is something that no one forgets.
Its really something when you see the gifts delivered, said Wier. There is not a dry eye in the room. These people have done a fantastic job especially considering that this started on one golf course. In fact, I would have to say this is the finest charitable golf tournament in the country. Its truly amazing.
Guy Pompa, a real estate agent with Premier Properties of Mesquite, played in his sixth event. A former 47-year resident of Las Vegas, he moved to Mesquite in September of 1996.
The reason I play in this is that its the most gratifying in knowing that there is not a child in this area that will go without during the holidays, said Pompa, 58. This is what Mesquite is all about. We had an incredible turn out here this year. I have to believe that this was the best ever.
This town has been so good to me and I always want to give back. I can do just that by playing in this tournament. The Golf Fore Kids is a hole-in-one. This is fantastic.
Golf writer Greg Miles of Golf Chicago participated and praised the Golf Fore Kids event.
I was impressed in many ways by the 2011 Golf Fore Kids tournament, said Miles. First, by its organization the timely placing of 440 golfers at four different courses. Then, collected and centralizing all the toys in one spot for display by the time of the luncheon; hats off to those committee leaders who spearheaded the event.
Second, I marvel at the generosity of the participants (toys) and the sponsors (prizes); never have I seen a raffle with so many winners. This was truly a total community effort. And not to be forgotten was the fine weather and the fun had by the golfers.
GolfMesquiteNevada.com, is a marketing co-op of golf courses and resorts in Mesquite, Nevada and St. George, Utah, and was created 10 years ago to promote golf vacations within the Mesquite/St.George area. Also included are Sand Hollow Resort Championship Course and Coral Canyon Golf Course located in nearby St. George, Utah area.
